Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use AutoVIN Report (the "Service") at autovin.tools. By creating an account or buying a report, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. What we do

AutoVIN Report is an independent online service. We provide vehicle history reports that are compiled by third-party data providers. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Carfax, Inc., Experian, or any government agency.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 18 years old and give us accurate information, including a working e-mail address that you confirm.
• Keep your password private. You're responsible for activity on your account.
• We may suspend or close accounts used for fraud, payment abuse, automated access, or anything that breaks these terms.

3. Vehicle history reports

• Reports are based on records that third parties report to the data provider. Not every accident, repair or event is reported, and records can be incomplete or contain errors. A report with no problems listed is not a guarantee that a vehicle has no problems.
• A report is not a substitute for a professional inspection or a test drive. Use it as one input when you decide whether to buy a vehicle.
• Reports are for your own use when evaluating a vehicle. You may share a report with the seller, a lender or your mechanic. You may not resell reports or collect them in bulk.

4. Prices and payment

• Prices are shown in US dollars before you pay. Payments are processed by PayPal, including card payments through PayPal. We never see or store your full card number.
• Credits are prepaid reports. Each report uses the number of credits shown before you confirm. Credits have no cash value, can't be transferred to another account, and don't expire while your account is open.

5. Free record check and refunds

• Before you pay, we show you for free how many records each report type has for the VIN you entered. A report type with no records can't be bought.
• If a paid report can't be delivered, the payment is returned to you as credit automatically.
• Reports are digital content delivered instantly, so completed purchases are generally final. If something went wrong, for example a report that doesn't match the VIN you entered, contact us within 14 days and we'll review it. Nothing in these terms limits any refund rights you have under the law where you live.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service for anything unlawful; try to get reports without paying or to get around our security or limits; use bots, scrapers or other automated tools; or use a report to identify, locate or contact a vehicle's previous owners.

7. No warranties

The Service and all reports are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including about the accuracy or completeness of report data, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on a report. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Changes and ending the Service

We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top, and the new terms apply from then on. You can stop using the Service and ask us to close your account at any time.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws that apply where AutoVIN Report is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This doesn't take away any consumer protection rights you have under the laws of the state or country where you live.
